We get so many questions about our Siberian huskies that we thought we would include a husky cheat sheet in every folder that goes home with a new puppy. Then I decided we shouldn’t stop there and publish it on our website for all to see in case they can get some information from us that may help them out in the long run.
Foods that our huskies are eating on a regular basis
Sweet Potatoes
Bananas
Apples
Blueberries
Green Beans
Sweet Peas or English Peas
Carrots (canned or fresh)
Pinto beans and Black eyed peas

We feed our puppies Royal Canin Medium puppy food.
If you transition your puppy to a different food it will most likely get diarrhea. If this occurs you can feed your puppy Pumpkin, sweet potatoes or bananas to help bind it’s bowels.

Toys
Puppies can have cloth toys but only for a short time. Puppies grow fast and some will eventually eat the cloth toys. If they do eat the toys it can cause a bowl obstruction requiring surgery or even cause death. Most huskies need supervision while playing with toys. They need durable toys like Kong Toys.
Grooming
Don’t ever let anyone shave your husky!
The coat protects them from the heat just like the cold.
Their coat protects them from the sun and if you shave it they could get sunburned and skin cancer down the road.
Brush them a couple times a week with a good undercoat rake.
They will blow their coats a couple times a year.
Deworming
Puppies will need to be dewormed about every 3 to 4 weeks. They are like babies and put everything in their mouth. Worms are in the ground and they will get worms so you must deworm them regularly.
Spaying and Neutering
Talk to your vet about when you should spay or neuter your dog but we recommend the dog be at least year old.
