Bella our red and white husky has went through a transformation these last few months. It is very common for a Siberian husky to change colors to some degree from a puppy to adulthood. Usually we see these changes start earlier in a husky puppy so seeing Bella transform from a light red and white to a dark chocolate and white was a little surprising to us. Siberian husky puppies usually start changing at 5 or 6 weeks and it can be a gradual change over time. Some black and white husky puppies will turn more grey and some white puppies will turn more cream colored. Even a huskies eyes can change colors.
Now all grown up Bella has become a dark chocolate. The hint that this might happen has been there the whole time. She has always had a dark chocolate nose. She is still classified as a red and white husky by akc standards. Here is a picture of Bella from this week.
She has transformed to be a beautiful dog. We love chocolate colored huskies with blue eyes.
