Our Husky dame Amber is starting to fill out more now that we are about a month away from her having puppies. She is pretty ill right now and don’t get to play with the other dogs as she is always ready to start a fuss. She is also guarding her kennel and won’t allow the other huskies to come near it. She is nesting and getting ready for the big day. Most momma dogs act this way when they are late into their pregnancy.
We are getting excited around here because not only Amber but Rylee and Lexi are going to have puppies soon too. Rylee may even have her puppies before Amber because they were bred only 2 days apart so it’s hard to say who is going to have puppies first. Either way they both will be moved to the new puppy whelping center soon so they can stay indoors and be very comfortable during the last couple of weeks of pregnancy. The building will be lightly heated until they start having puppies and then we will keep it about 65 degrees in the building. Here are some pics I took of Amber today. She was ding some howling because she spotted a dog out in the fields around the kennels. She has also been blowing her coat but she is just about done with that now.
