We have really enjoyed raising Husky puppies. They just never seem to run out of energy and they are always ready to play with you. We love our huskies and they love us. Our huskies don’t spend a lot of time in their kennel. Although we have large kennels for them, we socialize with them every morning for a few hours and then every evening they are out in our fenced in back yard running and playing but during the hot days we have here in the South, they spend a lot of time in the swimming pool.
Sharing the pool with Huskies
Nick is our biggest water bug and if you’re swimming then he is too. You’re not going to slip past him for a quite swim alone. Nick will jump in and swim to you and then he wants you to hold him so he can relax. if you’re not in the pool then he just swims around until he is ready to hang out on the ladder. If you’re in the pool then he is going to force you to tote him around the pool. Nick is still a puppy but I don’t see him growing up anytime soon.
Carley
Carley half dog half spiderman
Carley is the prime example of why a first time dog owner should not choose a husky puppy. Of all our dogs she is the one who causes most of the trouble around here. Innocent looking but boy are looks deceiving. We had gone on a weekend trip to a cabin by the lake and left our kids in charge of watching the pups while we were gone. The first couple of days went great but by the third night Carley started her mischief.
Our youngest son called that evening to tell us how his football practice went and then after a few minutes of chit chat he was about to hang up and mentioned in passing that Carley had dug out 2 times and was running loose. My wife about had a heart attack and was packing to come home. After talking to our oldest son he said he had it under control and had put them in a different part of the kennel. Convinced everything was ok we finished our vacation and headed back to spend a day cementing around the fence. Super just what I wanted to do when I got home. Then after I spent the day mixing up cement and pouring it I promised the wife it was fixed. That lasted about 2 days. One morning she got up because the dogs were barking to find Carley running around outside the pen. Yup, she made a liar out of me. I finally figured out that she was spider man too. She scaled the fence and was going over the top. The fence was 6 foot high so who would have thought? Never under estimate a husky!
Jordon The Talker
While Carley works quietly to get in trouble Jordon is the talker of the bunch. Every morning when I go out to see them Jordon spots me coming out the door and start her talking. She gets louder as I get closer. She is always ready to get out and run. If you ever thought about getting a husky puppy keep in mind that they are usually not quite dogs. They love to talk about nothing and howl like a wolf at times. If that would bother you then consider a different breed. You probably wouldn’t be happy with one of these loud mouths. Yea they do it the first few times and it’s cute but the next 10,000 times it just not that cute anymore to most people lol. Just after I took this photo I realized Jordon was chewing something which she should not be chewing Uh! It’s all good, went and took it away from her and of course she is not happy.
The husky Easter Bunny
Meet Amber. She is fun and loving but loves to bite if you’re not paying enough attention to her. We had her dress up like a bunny rabbit this past Easter. We had a lot of fun making these pictures. I would never have guessed she would leave the bunny ears on long enough for us to snap a few photos but surprisingly she did! Amber is also a water bug and loves to hit the pool as soon as she is let out of the kennel.
