Another start to a beautiful week around here at our Siberian husky kennels. It has not rained in several days but we are paying a price for that, hot hot weather! Our puppies don’t mind the hot weather too bad since they have a big swimming pool and fans blowing on them while they are in the shade. They really don’t worry about that too much as it is just a good excuse to stay in the pool more. Nick our big male stands on the pool steps quite a bit while the other adults lay in the shade. He has always been a big water bug. I have had a few calls lately with clients asking if it was too hot here in Alabama for a Siberian husky. The South is hot this time of year but if a husky puppy was born and raised here it doesn’t bother it at all and knows no difference. You just have to use common sense with a husky just like any other dog. They need plenty of water and shade from the sun. A small kiddy pool you can get from the dollar store would be nice too if you don’t have a family pool.
