  • Guacamole. It’s almost pure avocado and contains a toxin called Persin which causes diarrhea and vomiting in dogs. Guacamole also contains a lot of onions which destroy red blood cells in dogs that eat a large quantity of them.
  • Garlic. Garlic like onions contain sulfoxides that can affect the blood and lead to anemia. I know people sometimes feed their dogs garlic to prevent fleas but it’s bad for the dog.
  • Macadamia nuts. They can cause gastric distress, plus lethargy, weakness, and even paralysis.
  • Yeast dough. This type of dough can cause a build up in your dogs digestive system. Bits of cooked bread are ok but it should not be a large part of your dogs diet.
  • Salt. Salt in huge amounts can cause excessive thirst and urination and elevated body temperature which can lead to death.
  • Milk and dairy products. Dairy products upset the digestive tract in some adult dogs . Huskies in particular usually can’t tolerate milk products.
