We had to say goodbye to a couple of our fur family members this year. We lost our boxer of 12 years and our mini dachshund of 13 years. At these ages it was just their time to go over the rainbow bridge. It’s been said that a dog is born knowing how to get along with others, how to love and forgive. We humans live much longer because it takes us a long time to learn these very concepts of life. We now have a new dachshund puppy running around our house. We still cry and miss our late girl but it’s hard to be sad around a puppy. This year has been a great year for puppies. Looking back we have had a lot of happy families come through here taking home a life long friend.
When you are around a group of puppies or even just one, you can observe the best lesson a puppy can teach you. Today is the best day ever! After working with dogs for over 20 years and owning at least one dog through out my life I know one thing is true. We all need dogs in our lives. Dogs make you smile and laugh, and just take time out of a busy day to just be silly and talk funny to a wonderful companion. They give me so much joy in life and I am lucky to be in a career that I am truly passionate about.
Here at Bama huskies we have been working every day to improve how we manage our kennels and improve the health of our dogs and puppies. Every puppy deserves the best start in life and it’s our goal to get them on the best path so they are ready to leave here with a family and take on the world. Don’t forget that we are getting them started and it’s up to you to take them the rest of the way.
So this Christmas season I am reminded every day when work gets really busy to stop and play with the puppies. Why? Because today is the best day ever and that very well may be the most important lesson in life these puppies are teaching me. So when life gets crazy and you’re lost in the work and stress of it all, stop and play with your dog. He is trying to teach you a life lesson. Will you take time to learn it?
