The breeding for our 2 pairs of huskies for the fall is over and now we wait on puppies to get here. Bella and Blade’s litter is expected to be due around October the 20th. That is just a guess as they could come a week earlier or a week later. This is Bella’s first litter of puppies so she may have a smaller litter than expected, we will just have to wait and see. The only thing I don’t look forward to is the whelping of her pups. Bella is a big baby and I suspect she will be very vocal during the whelping process. Some Siberian huskies really get vocal. I don’t film it but if you want to see how vocal they can get just do a video search on youtube.com and you will understand why I don’t look forward to that part.
We get very excited around here the day we get new puppies. Our dogs usually end up starting around 7 pm and go until after midnight having puppies. The last litter in the spring didn’t stop until 2 am and we were exhausted when we went to bed and we weren’t the one giving birth. It’s worth every minute of lost sleep. We don’t leave anything to chance. We have our vet on standby in case something goes wrong and we are right there talking and comforting our new mom through the whole process. Our vet tech is always here during the whole thing as well. Yes I am excited just thinking about our new puppies that are on the way. Here are a couple of recent pictures of Bella and Blade. We will keep everyone updated on the progress soon. We are Siberian Husky breeders in Alabama and offer kennel tours to potential customers weekly.
